Flexible Stainless Steel Stripwound Metal Hose

Stainless Steel Griplock is a robust and highly flexible stripwound metal hose designed for demanding industrial applications. Manufactured from stainless steel, its fully interlocked construction combines flexibility with high mechanical strength and excellent resistance to crushing.

The tubing is manufactured from a single metal strip which is formed around a mandrel and fully interlocked. This construction creates a durable flexible metal tube capable of accommodating movement while maintaining its shape and mechanical integrity.

Designed for Demanding Industrial Applications

Stainless Steel Griplock is particularly suitable for applications where conventional flexible hose materials may not provide the required mechanical strength or temperature resistance.

Its stainless steel construction makes it suitable for a wide variety of industrial environments, including ducting, extraction, exhaust, dry material handling and protective applications.

Typical uses include:

  • Air, smoke and fume ducting
  • Industrial extraction systems
  • Exhaust applications
  • Ash and dust handling
  • Grain and dry bulk material transfer
  • Plastic pellet handling
  • Paper trim extraction
  • Protective casing for cables and wires
  • Applications involving vibration or movement
  • Applications requiring high mechanical strength

High Temperature Flexible Metal Hose

With a maximum operating temperature of +650°C, Stainless Steel Griplock is suitable for many high-temperature applications where polymer or conventional flexible hoses may not be appropriate.

The combination of stainless steel construction, high tensile strength and crush resistance makes Griplock a versatile solution for industrial installations requiring a durable and flexible metallic tube.

Special Features

Special Features

Griplock is available ‘Loose / Floppy’, ‘Stiff / Stayput’ up to 76mm ID. If it is not required to be especially floppy or stayput the tubing is supplied with Medium Flexibility (Mid Flex) as standard. All sizes over 76mm ID will be supplied mid-flex. Please state the flexibility required in the notes section when placing your order.

Flow Direction from Whitehouse Flexible TubingFlow Direction

Our Griplock tubing provides a smooth surface particularly in one direction due to the design of its section. We recommend that our customers ensure that the media flow through our tubing follows the Flow Direction of the Hose. There are many benefits to this including protection of the media and tube in addition to ensuring Optimum Flow Characteristics. In addition, it helps prevent damage to the media or tube when used in conjunction with abrasive materials such as plastic pellets.

Flexibility

Griplock is available ‘Loose / Floppy’, ‘Stiff / Stayput’ up to 76mm ID. If it is not required to be especially floppy or stayput the tubing is supplied with Medium Flexibility (Mid Flex) as standard. All sizes over 76mm ID will be supplied mid-flex. Please state the flexibility required in the notes section when placing your order.

Stiff

By ‘squashing’ the tube during manufacture it creates a stiff product tube with increased air tightness & ‘stayput’ properties

Midflex

Our standard product is manufactured ‘midflex’ which is most popular and is ideal for most applications.

Floppy

By loosening the pressure on the tools during manufacture we produce a tube with maximum flexibility that moves freely.
