Construction

Galvanised Steel Interlock Tubing Construction

Galvanised Steel Copper Packed Interlock is manufactured from deep drawing quality carbon steel to BS.1449 galvanised.

Profiled metal strip is wound into a tube with the edges completely interfolded to create the interlocked construction.

The section is supplied with wire packing as standard, with cotton or rubber packing also available on request.

The resulting construction provides a flexible metal tube with high crush resistance, great mechanical strength and increased gas tightness.

Applications

Galvanised Steel Copper Packed Interlock Applications

Galvanised Steel Copper Packed Interlock is particularly suitable for applications requiring a flexible but relatively stiff metal tube with increased gas tightness.

The tubing is ideal for absorbing vibration, accommodating thermal expansion and providing noise attenuation on engine exhaust systems.

Typical applications include:

  • Engine Exhausts – suitable for absorbing vibration, thermal expansion and providing noise attenuation on engine exhaust systems
  • Ducting & Extraction – suitable for flexible ducting and extraction applications
  • Material Handling – suitable for conveying a variety of dry bulk materials
  • Dry Bulk Goods – commonly used for conveying dry bulk products
  • Grain – suitable for conveying grain
  • Dry Powders – suitable for conveying dry powdered materials
  • Granular Products – suitable for conveying granular products of various types
  • Protective Casings – suitable for protective casing applications
  • Stayput Applications – suitable where a stiffer metal hose with stayput characteristics is required

The maximum operating temperature for Copper Packed Interlock is +500°C.

*Please note the diameters listed below are all inside diameters. Please check this before ordering.

Manufacturing tolerances – All metallic tubing is manufactured to ID sizes, tolerances are + 0.5mm, – 0.0mm – up to 76mm ID, + 1.0mm, – 0.0mm – anything over 76mm ID
